I'm happy to announce an interview with Rogue Amoeba's Paul Kafasis; who along with co-founders, Alex, and Quentin created Audio Hijack Pro and Nicecast. They are also a leading tool provider to the podcasting revolution with AHP for recording, mixing, and other audio voodoo on OS X.
Airfoil is a more recent addition to their lineup with version 2 coming next month. I'm hoping to pry some more clues out of him about new products to be announced at Macworld SF.
Post your questions now (in comments), spread the word : ) and be sure to check out Paul's interview from Evening At Adler, the recent Chicago gathering of indie Mac developers (thanks to MacZealot's Justin Wiliams for the recording).

Audio Hijack Pro is used by many PodCasters to record conversations, while the audio quality is often good it depends heavily on the performance of internet phone products like Skype and iChat which can experiance delay and echo depending on network performance. Have you considered adding support for recording both sides of a VOIP call, and later synchronizing the uncompressed audio recordings from each end?

Current versions of AHPro can record each side seperately if you wish (just create one Session for each side and hit Record in both). As for sync'ing them back up, you'd have to do that in an audio editor, and I'm not sure if the results would be any better.

I'd be curious to hear whether you have had any negative legal reactions to the audio software. In particular, I imagine publishers of "location-bound" audio could be upset by the ability your product gives users to liberate audio.
I'm not using Audio Hijack, but when I've been tempted to integrate it into my lifestyle, it's been with thoughts of taking shows like Fresh Air and turning them into regular mp3 podcasts I could listen to at the gym.
The recent reaction by NBC to Tivo's support for iPod video makes me wonder if Audio Hijack faces similar reaction from audio content owners.

I'm glad to hear about all these new interviews coming up, but what about the one with Wil Shipley ? I've been waiting for this for a while now :-)
Keep up the good work

Do you worry about Apple co-opting your products? How do you feel about Apple's continued moves into the application space?

I'll never understand the Mac public's fascination with Shipley...
Anyhow, what new products is the Amoeba working on? I love Hijack, have no use for Airfoil, and toyed with Nicecast, but I want to see what's next.
