Would a wiki add value to CocoaRadio? I'm thinking it would provide an opportunity for more community participation and be useful for things like:
- Show notes
- Developer and application details
- Guest suggestion list
- Developer resources links, notes...
I saw an example on Leo Laporte's KFI show (suggestion from Hugh Scott) for his use of a wiki for notes and thought it worth checking into for CocoaRadio. While I've been including some links in the upcoming guest posts and show post, I'm sure that you guys have more to add.
Since I tend not to have the best config. skills or time to bring a wiki to life, I'm putting out a call here for anyone who would like to work on this. MacDevCenter has a good article out this week on setting up MediaWiki but maybe Kwiki, SocialText, or Jot would also be a fit.
I'm looking to you, the listeners, for direction on this. Add your thoughts in comments and we'll work this out. Thanks for your support of CocoaRadio.

I'll offer again... ProjectForum is a very nice wiki for OS X that doesn't involve all the hacking and configuration most do; just double-click. Be happy to donate a license as I've enjoyed your interviews immensely! http://www.projectforum.com/pf/

Blake -
I'm not a listener, but I am a big fan of wikis. I think it's the best way to capture lots of assorted bits of knowledge, as well as build a community around your show.
Chances are, at least in the beginning, you'll be entering in a lot of the information yourself. I've found it usually takes a one or two people to be really dedicated - not only adding in the initial information, but also pruning the bits added by others. I'd definitely try to plan out some sort of framework ahead of time, but make sure it's flexible enough for future expansion.
MediaWiki has worked well for Mind Camp. I've also used TWiki at work. All in all, I think it would make a great open content management system for your show. As long as you're willing to put plenty of work into it.

Thanks Justin. I was thinking the same about the amount of work that would go into maintaining a wiki. Given the volunteers who have come forward on design and AAC enhancement, I think the wiki would be well managed. As for participation to make it worthwhile, I'm guessing the interaction between listeners and developers would healthy and not compete with existing venues. I think the CocoaRadio wiki could a Cocoa bazaar of sorts.
I just saw this ZDNet post about choosing a wiki which again highlights Kwiki: http://blogs.zdnet.com/BTL/index.php?p=2220
What about hosting of Kwiki? Any ideas on free hosts since I currenlty host this blog with Typepad? I don't have any other need for an extra hosting account.
